OUR HISTORY
In 1976, Mr. Harshad Thakar set up a saw mill in Ratnagiri (now Sindhudurg), Maharashtra, to process the wood logged from the regional forest areas.
Owing to the quality of processed wood supplied from the saw mill as well as the technological know-how gained from experience, there was an unprecedented demand for finished products like flush doors from clients. This led to the expansion of the saw mill to include a flush door manufacturing facility in 1982.
To improve supply chain efficiencies and facilitate growth, another flush door manufacturing facility was set up near Mumbai, Maharashtra in 1987.
To expand the product portfolio to include plywood, blockboards and flush doors, a flagship manufacturing facility was set up in Pune, Maharashtra in 1993.
Shraddha Veneers Pvt. Ltd. was incorporated in 1995 and the flush door manufacturing facility near Mumbai was shifted to Navi Mumbai in 1995 under the company’s umbrella.
Technological advancements enabled manufacturing of plywood, block boards and flush doors in this facility.
In 1998, Shraddha Veneers Pvt. Ltd. was the first to manufacture plywood made from Gurjan wood. The unique characteristics of the wood made it an instant favorite for both residential and commercial applications.
In its unending quest for quality, the company obtained IS 303 (Plywood for General Purposes) from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in 2000. Manufacturing as per ISI specifications further ensured that the company offered products with unrivaled quality.
To respond to the changing landscape in the industry, the company further obtained IS 710 (Marine Plywood). This ensures that our plywood products can endure the most stringent operating conditions and quality requirements
INFRASTRUCTURE AND PROCESSES
Innovation
Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is located at Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. At this facility, we constantly strive to innovate in terms of processes and technology. A continuous R&D regime allows us to explore and test numerous species of wood, newer and more efficient manufacturing processes as well as latest developments in machine technology.
Automated Production
The facility includes designated areas for sorting and processing of wood, pressing of panels, finishing and chemical treatment of pressed panels. Machines that make use of latest automations ensure a high dimensional accuracy and superior strength and durability characteristics. Our process includes bonding with high pressure and heat using synthetic resins that result in panels with improved strength and prevents bending and warping. In addition, chemical treatment results in panels that are insect, borer and fungus proof and termite resistant. Together, these processes contribute to high weather resistance of our products.
Testing and Quality Control
Our sophisticated testing laboratory with latest testing equipment ensures that our products meet and exceed the highest standards of quality as laid out by ISI norms. Our rigorous testing regime includes conditioning, mechanical and chemical testing of raw materials and finished products. The results of these tests are studied and process parameters are controlled to maintain product quality. Strict quality control and inspection ensure that any variation in the production process is arrested and rectified so as to maintain highest quality standards in production.
